I haven't played Mafia 2 (although I might check it out now you've mentioned it in the same company as the other games). obviously the superior game is GTA, but Saints Row 2 is good in its own way. I rarely go looking for them, I know they are the map but I just have to much fun loading the game up and going on a crazy adventure which will sometimes accidently lead me to a mission. saints row 2 should NOT be compared to Grand Theft Auto IV. I've put countless hours into JC2 and I doubt I've even scratched the surface of the story/missions. But I think JC2 just finds the gaming hooks in the "open world" setting and provides more fun. I think Sleeping Dogs is a tighter game with better acting, better and more varied missions and graphically it looks amazing (if you have the grunt to handle it). So for me, JC2 by a whisker (over Sleeping Dogs). While these are not perfectly detailed, these are. In addition to showing all roads, it also displays many geographic features such as rivers and ridges, as well as buildings. The Map displays Playa's position and orientation within Stilwater or Steelport. And the game REWARDS you (with chaos points which unlock more in game stuff) while you're doing it! The Map, also known as GPS, is a gameplay feature in Saints Row, Saints Row 2, Saints Row: The Third, Saints Row IV and Gat out of Hell. The thing of it is, JC2 actively rewards you for going it alone steal a car, shoot a load of militia, they send in helicopters, use the grapling hook and steal the helilcopter, start shooting up entire cities. I think everyone goes through a phase in the GTA games of just going totally off script for a while and just seeing how far they can push the engine to do straight out mental things (that's at least half the fun of all the GTA3+ games!). Unlockables are awarded after completing level three and level six of each Activity, rather than after completing all eight levels in Saints Row. I played a little Saints Row (bought around the same time as Sleeping Dogs, so haven't played much yet for that reason), but I think for pure, crazy, open-world insane fun you can't beat JC2. Unlike Activities in Saints Row, each Activity in Saints Row 2 has just six levels instead of eight, and there are just two instances of them, rather than three. Sleeping Dogs is a fantastic game, I went a little crazy over the Steam Christmas sale but hardly have got a look in because of this game. If you played GTA IV and thought "This is good, but I was hoping for an upgraded version of San Andreas", go out and buy SR2 right now.I was bored by GTA4 (on console, and I also got it as part of the GTA deal for PC a while ago). Player customization is pretty big, lots of unlockables special weapons, vehicles, vehicle customization. It's got plenty of humor, lots of side missions(Heli Assault is probably my favourite, although Insurance Fraud and.the one where you're on fire, are also fun). SR2 is essentially San Andreas taken from the point where you can start owning the neighborhoods. The Over-arching story in SR2 is nowhere near as good as GTA San Andreas, but it stands well on its own. Not sure why they decided on all the melodrama for GTAIV, but SR2 is my pick for sure. SR2 is supposed to be over the top, and near as I can tell all the previous GTA games were the same way. It is the sequel to 2006s Saints Row and the second installment in. That's not to say GTAIV is bad, but it's not what I would have thought it would be. Saints Row 2 is a 2008 action-adventure game developed by Volition and published by THQ. Volition Has an Ambitious Plan to Revive Saints Row-again-in 2023. If I finished San Andreas and went straight to GTAIV, SR2 is what I would expect to be playing. The latest Tweet by GameSpot states, Volition has an ambitious plan to revive Saints Row-again-in 2023.
